THANK YOU to all of you who came by and to those who supported Special Olympics New York by purchasing ducks. All proceeds insure that the over 24,000 Special Olympics Athletes in New York City continue to receive year-round sports training & athletic competitions and that neither the athlete, their family nor their caregiver will ever have to pay.

Milo's last stop with Brooklyn Borough President Markowitz

Milo the Million Dollar Duck's Manhattan Migration, down to the South Street Seaport in time to join over 25,000 of his little rubber friends for a race in the East River on Monday, August 6th for the Million Dollar Duck Race to benefit Special Olympics New York, concludes…

Milo visited the Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz earlier this week. The Brooklyn Borough President is a big fan of Special Olympics New York and Milo wanted to say personally hello to Borough President Markowitz. Milo was delighted that Borough President Markowitz greeted him at the entrance of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Milo wanted to challenge himself for his last journey to the South Street Seaport and decided to cross the Brooklyn Bridge. He was very determined to make it through and take his place at South Street Seaport to get his ducks in a row for Monday's event. Before Milo was ready to move his yellow-feathered wings towards the Seaport, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz shook Milo’s fluffed wings and wished him luck for his long journey.

Milo will be down at the Seaport all day Monday to meet, greet and sell ducks. Coincidentally, Monday is both the Million Dollar Duck Race to benefit Special Olympics New York AND Milo's birthday. Milo's stop at Mitsui USA

Being the lucky duck he is, this week Milo had a chance to attend Mitsui USA's kickoff carnival. Milo, Milo's agent and his friend Ronnie Weintraub, a Special Olympics New York Global Messenger from New York City Region, gave a wonderful speech to Mitsui USA team at their kickoff carnival.

Milo is overjoyed to see that Mitsui USA, as an official sponsor for 2007 Duck Race has also started building their team " Team Mitsui USA NY " to raise more duckies.

With his message to you today, Milo also wants share a global message which was given by USA Today. Special Olympics is this week's charity Snapshot celebrating USA Today's 25th Anniversary. Please read the news at:

This week Milo has found his way to Times Square where he had so much fun and made friends, including his Statue of Liberty friend! Earlier in the week, he quacked with glee when he heard that so many of you have begun to adopt ducks and start teams. And he’s just “downy with delight” in the knowledge that the athletes of Special Olympics New York will benefit from your generosity. DUCK SEASON IS OFFICIALLY OPEN! This week Milo the Million Dollar Duck embarks on his annual Manhattan Migration to South Street Seaport for the 2007 Million Dollar Duck Race to benefit Special Olympics New York. He has until Monday, August 6th to tour Manhattan, stop at some hot spots and pay a visit or two before joining over 25,000 of his little rubber friends for a race in the East River.

Today he visited CBS early show. Above you see Milo with Special Olympics New York athletes on 5th Avenue at the plaza. Manhattan migration downtown is not an easy one but he is a duck of the world and looks forward to spreading the news of Special Olympics during his travels. If you spot Milo in the coming weeks, let us know! He'll be on TV, on the radio, in the newspaper and at some of the New York City's most recognizable spots. But watch out for decoys!

They’re back! Those little yellow ducks are returning to New York City this summer to help Special Olympics New York raise the bucks! On Monday, August 6th approximately 25,000 rubber ducks will take the plunge into the East River and race from the Brooklyn Bridge to the South Street Seaport for the 2007 Million Dollar Duck Race. And YOU have a chance to adopt one of these potentially lucky ducks.

Every $5 donation to Special Olympics New York adopts one of these racing ducks in your name and gives you a chance to win one million dollars, American Airlines tickets, a digital camera, or other fabulous prizes. More importantly, your donation will help Special Olympics New York provide year-round sports training and Olympic-style competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Our most publicly accessible fundraising event - the Million Dollar Duck Race - is a "fundraiser" when approximately 25,000 rubber ducks take the plunge into the East River and race from the Brooklyn Bridge to the South Street Seaport. Every $5 donation we receive from the public adopts one of these racing ducks giving them the chance to win a million dollars or other fabulous prizes. But more importantly, the donations help Special Olympics New York provide year-round sports training and Olympic-style competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Milo The Lucky Duck

Milo was a lucky duck this week when he played the New York Lottery. Adopt your duck for the Million Dollar Duck Race today and you could be a lucky duck too! Hey, you never know... It is the week of Milo the Million Dollar Duck's annual Manhattan Migration to South Street Seaport for the 2006 Million Dollar Duck Race to benefit Special Olympics New York. Tomorrow, Thursday, September 14th, Milo ends his tour of Manhattan and joins over 25,000 of his little rubber duck friends for a race in the East River.

Milo was headed to the Lottery studio to help Yoooo-laaaaanda Vega, one of his favorite people and a huge supporter of Special Olympics, draw the New York Lottery numbers this week. He got his feathers fluffed and was looking just ducky in anticipation but had to duck out last minute due to several opportunities that hatched unexepectedly - one of which was an appearance on CBS's Early Show this morning. If any of you were up at the quack of dawn this morning you might have seen him with all of his Special Olympics friends.

Fortunately Milo will have the chance to spend the entire day with Yolanda and other luminaries during a day of fun at the Seaport. Come down, meet Milo, play the Lottery's Lucky Duck Game, enjoy WPLJ's party patrol, later on dance to the music of The Bluetones on the main stage and watch those 25,000+ duckies race. MILO TAKES FLIGHT

Milo's migration is drawing to a close and his wings are getting tired. Being the Lucky Ducky he is, American Airlines and US Helicopter were there to give him a lift. It is week five of Milo the Million Dollar Duck's annual Manhattan Migration to South Street Seaport for the 2006 Million Dollar Duck Race to benefit Special Olympics New York. He has until Thursday, September 14th to tour Manhattan, stop at some hot spots and pay a visit or two before joining over 25,000 of his little rubber duck friends for a race in the East River.

Milo, Milo's agent and his good friend Alan Russo, a wonderful Special Olympics New York athlete from Staten Island, had a birds eye view of Manhattan as they flew a US Helicopter from JFK Airport to the Downtown Manhattan Heliport this week. During the flight, Milo and Alan took in spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty and even the race venue - the South Street Seaport. Upon arrival at the Heliport they were flocked by photographers, American Airlines representatives and the Special Olympics New York family! One Heliport representative commented "Milo is the biggest celebrity we have had here!" Not bad considering Eva Mendes, Molly Simms and Jared Leto were recently seen there. Maybe they were referring to his actual size... regardless, Milo was so flattered he's planning to use American Airlines and US Helicopter for all his migration needs. You should too! Milo is getting all pumped up for the big race. This week he could be found working out at Sweat the fitness center in the W New York Union Square. Where else could a hip, trendy celebrity like Milo go to get in some time on the exercise bike, elliptical machine and with the weights without causing too much of a stir? After his workout, Milo popped into UNDERBAR for a quick martini with the associates of the W New York Union Square who, along with many of their fellow Starwood Hotels & Resorts associates, have started a team and are adopting ducks to show their commitment to Special Olympics. It was an exhilarating, fun and glamorous stop in Milo's migration and he encourages you all to stop by a Starwood hotel or resort during your own migrations. He also wants to remind you that there are only two weeks left until the race... be sure to adopt your lucky duck(s) now while there are still ducks available!

Milo does his best to stay connected to all the happenings in New York during his travels. Today he was spotted at a newsstand purchasing the ever informative Daily News where he is being featured on a regular basis throughout August and September. And yes, he is available for autographs. Shortly after this photo was taken he was flocked by fans and is in demand!

On Thursday, August 24, Milo joined Sandy the Seagull at the Brooklyn Cyclones game in Coney Island. Birds of a feather must stick together after all. Milo's good friend Walter Bannon, a Special Olympics athlete from Brooklyn, threw the first pitch too.

Surprisingly, Milo did not ruffle feathers when he rode the elevator on a visit to one of the companies who has already started fundraising. Milo is overjoyed to see that the corporate community is not ducking out of their commitment to the intellectually disabled population. This week the Merrill Lynch Duckies is the lead corporate team - but don't count any ducks before they hatch. There is still plenty of time for your company to start its own team.
